Behind the Brand: HALF HART

HALF HART Co. is a clothing brand created by Angel Bedoy, guitarist in Dallas based alternative rock band Oh, Weatherly. The brand was created October 31st, 2018 and officially launched January 18th, 2019. The first launch included a hoodie and long sleeve that featured the original HALF HART logo until Angel changed it to a messy, but cute, drawing of a heart. The second launch went live on January 25th, which included a beanie.

Angel seems to pride himself on high quality products and designs, so fans are quite stoked for the future of HALF HART. We decided to interview Angel himself to get more of an insight into the brand.

AU: What made you want to start your clothing line HALF HART? And what’s the meaning behind the name?

Angel: I had a brand before this, but didn’t take off like HALF HART. So, I wanted a reason to start again. Also, it’s a reminder to learn to love and understand everything and everyone around you.

AU: You first talked about the clothing line while on tour with your band Oh, Weatherly on Mayday Parade’s Sunnyland tour, had you been working on it before then or did you come up with the idea while on tour?

Angel: I had my face tattoo planned out, the brand came a little afterwards. So yes, I started working on it heavily while I was on tour.

AU: While on tour you were setting up your website, giving fans previews, etc. was it easy to do all this when you were already so busy with tour?

Angel: Sort of, I definitely had to somehow find a time to sit down and get away from everyone and everything and focus my energy on HALF HART.

AU: The hoodies from your first launch have already sold out, when will the second launch be announced?

Angel: Yes! I couldn’t believe it for a sec. I’m so thankful for everyone! I have MORE THAN LOVE BEANIE by ANGEL coming out on 01.25 but other than that I can’t announce other dates.

AU: Your logo originally was a perfect heart that was half black, half white. What made you change it to the one you have now, the drawing of it?

Angel: life.

AU: Who’s been your biggest supporter through all of this?

Angel: My lil dog Autumn.
