1000 Miles of Fire: Unplugged

This past week we had the opportunity to interview 1000 Miles of Fire, a pop-punk/alternative band from Denver, Colorado! We asked them about merch, music, and their shoot with Jawn Rocha! Keep reading to see what they have to say about it all! AU: My first question is what inspired you guys to choose the name 1000 Miles of Fire? Were there other name suggestions that almost made it but didn’t? 1000MOF: We actually did not have any band names whatsoever other than 1000 Miles of Fire. We got the name from a band we really liked in middle school called Story of the Year. They have a song called Anthem of our Dying Day and the chorus goes "from up here the city lights burn like a thousand miles of fire" and being 12 years old, we thought that was tight. So we went with that and stuck ever since! AU: When you first started the band what was your main goal? Do you think you’ve reached that goal or are you still working on that? 1000MOF: We didn't really have a goal when we started. We literally just played covers in basements for our best friends for a good portion of our early time in the band. I think our goal now is just to see how far we can take this! AU: You have quite a few songs out at the moment, which one is your personal favorite? 1000MOF: My personal favorite is a tie between Open Arms, Hopeful Heart from our 2017 EP or our single coming out next month. I don't want to give too much detail yet but it's probably the catchiest and heaviest song we have to date AU: And out of all your lyrics, which ones have the most meaning behind them? 1000MOF: That's a difficult question! I think I love the lyrics in Drawing the Line the most just because it has this deeply personal metaphor hidden behind the literal lyrics of the song. That one or Who We Could Be; simply because it means so much to so many people. AU: You have a new single coming out February 2nd, can you tell us the title? And what’s the meaning behind the new song? 1000MOF: Hmm I won't confirm or deny that the release of the aforementioned new song is on February 2nd. Guess you'll have to wait and see.

AU: You recently did a shoot with Jawn Rocha, what was that like?

1000MOF: Incredible. Jawn is the nicest guy and it was really great to hear some insight as to what bigger tours are like. The photos came out perfect as well.

AU: I’ve seen some of the photos you guys have posted they look really great! So you guys dropped 3 merch designs back in December, do you have plans for more soon once you release new music? Are you going to be working with the same artists for future designs?

1000MOF: Same artist, brand new designs! Hopefully springtime.

AU: Awesome! I loved Mikey’s design for the pink shirt so I can’t wait to see what else y’all come put with! And to wrap things up, your fanbase seems to be small but growing daily, is it nice being able to interact with your fans on such an intimate level?

1000MOF: Yes! We would like to be able to keep interacting with our fans on this level no matter how big we get!
